The Importance of Your Provide the Assist Fund Donations

Q3 open enrollment is going on right now for Provide the Assist Fund grants. Last quarter we proudly gave grants to the following individuals: Michelle, Daniel, Rhonda, Charleton, Verhonda, Brandon, William, Armando and Cassandra. That’s nine people who had less of a financial burden while fighting the hardest battle of their lives.

Undergoing treatments for sarcoma and rare cancers can be very costly and often something a patient is not financially equipped to cover. Financial stress is one of the very last things a patient needs to add to their plate. This is where the Provide the Assist fund grants are so valuable.

On many occasions a patient may need to travel to a new city to undergo treatments. The Provide the Assist Fund is a program by EDDF that provides grants to sarcoma patients who are receiving treatments at locations across the U.S. It is not limited to just Texas.

The Provide the Assist Fund offers patients grants of up to $500 to cover the expense of food, transportation, childcare and lodging during treatments.

We’d like to take this opportunity to show you how valuable these donations are and how important it is to continue to donate so we can give this grants out every quarter.

When you donate or volunteer to raise funds for EDDF’s Provide the Assist Fund you make a real impact on the lives of adult sarcoma (and rare cancer) patients and families.

Here are some of the things we have heard from Provide the Assist fund recipients (including one shown in photo):

“I believe “Provide the Assist” is a basketball term. Teammates help one teammate to make a basket. This organization does just that; it’s a perfect analogy. You assist patients on their journey and with your help they can make a slam dunk against cancer!”

“I want to say thank you, beyond thank you! This has helped me more than you know. We have to travel 3 hours to Memphis for all my doctor’s visits and treatments.”

“I had to quit my job because the chemo and surgery keep me down. Gas alone was becoming harder and harder to come by. I hope to pay it forward as soon as I am able!”

Please consider making a donation to help us continue to give out as many grants as possible. No donation or fundraiser is too small. Every donation makes a true difference. Please click here to easily donate to the Provide the Assist Fund.
