We are pleased to announce that over the past month we have been hard at work on our monthly newsletter. It has been fully updated and enhanced with the new theme of “Powering Forward.”
Powering Forward is significant for two reasons. The first is that Eric’s position in basketball was a Power Forward. In case your basketball knowledge is slightly out of practice, iHoop says “The power forward plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of a basketball team.
Power forwards must be excellent rebounders–and just as importantly, must be able to take care of the ball after securing it. Power forwards have to be able to hit open shots, since they typically aren’t the focal point of a defense. They have to be a spark who’s capable of making a big play for the team.”
The second reason we’ve named the newsletter Powering Forward, is because that’s exactly what we are all doing here together: Powering Forward. We are Powering Forward in the fight against sarcoma and rare cancer. We are Powering Forward through awareness, through technology, through research. And that’s how you’ll see the newsletter divided up so you’ll know exactly what section you are about to read. You’ll also see links to all of our social media pages and a simple opportunity to give a gift through our donate button.
In addition to news about EDDF, we’ll keep you posted on the latest in sarcoma news and research, healthy living tips and we’ll share stories from our friends who have faced sarcoma and rare cancer.
The first edition of the newsletter comes out Friday. Please help us out and spread the word and ask just two friends to sign up through this link. We’ll be randomly drawing from our subscribers and will send out Team Eric bracelets to five people who show their support for EDDF by reading the newsletter.
